This is Gold!

I currently have so many amazing opportunities and projects coming up that I just can't wait to tell everyone I know (especially you guys) about it! But as of now, I'm going to try and keep my lips sealed until it's actually happening:) I have been super busy preparing a million things at once that I feel like I'm going at 200km/h every single day. I don't know if I can do it all, I don't know if I can actually achieve this goal I'm going for, but at the very least I know that I want it bad enough to make it happen.

Today's Indonesia's 68th Independence day! Yay! I remember when I was in high school we all had to come to school super early just to do the ceremony out in the bright scorching sun, every, single, year. I mean I'm not big on nationalism but I also remembered we all had to do all those random humiliating games and weird stunts on this particular day, and yet, it was probably one of the best events ever because we get to be foolish and a bit crazy in the celebration of unity. So in case you didn't know, our flag is a simple red and white; imagine 2 horizontal rectangles of the same size on top of each other.

I went for yoga early in the morning and went out for dinner with my family afterwards in my red and white ensemble.

I'm wearing an Abercrombie and Fitch Shirt, American Apparel's Disco Pants in black, Substitute's Club Kid flatforms, Zara sunnies, and a Supreme tee that I chopped off into a crop top!

Old vs. New

The trend does not make you better but you yourself have to make the trend work into your personal style. So follow the trend that you personally find matching to your personality and style, don't follow it because the world is doing it. At one point in my life, I used to be an emo with a mohawk and ripped stockings. So discover yourself while you're still young!

So here's my top 5 list of the old and new things in the fashion trend so far that I personally feel everyone should come on board with or try:

1. Minimalist heels
No joke they're not the best type of heels to walk in because it's so steep, and a stiletto too! But trust me, you can pretty much pair them with any type of look and it all goes.
Tip: Pick the stilettos if you want to look taller, pick the fat heels if you want to walk a long distance.

2. Shaped skirts/shorts
The infamous Zara 'skort' has pretty much proved that shaped skirts/shorts can uplift your whole look. It's not messy, it's classy.
Tip: Find the shape that suits your body type and width. You need these skirts/shorts to complement your body shape.

3. Midriff it
I know that this isn't new but crop tops are at a whole new level right now. Wear it with high-waisted shorts or a beautiful structured skirt and voila!
Tip: Topshop is all about the cropped top idea and loads of their cropped singlets are on sale now! If you have an old t-shirt you don't wear anymore, cut it to the desired length and it automatically becomes a new piece in your wardrobe.

4. Go white
Going all white is definitely something I really love doing right now. It completely cleans your whole look out and better yet, you can play around with the texture and shapes to make it look even more stunning.
Tip: There's off-white and there's white. So make sure when you're doing the whole white look that it's in the same tone.

5. Patterns
This has been going on for a while but I feel that over the past years, the pattern 'trend' changes over time and it keeps evolving too. Use patterned pieces to immediately unite your look and at the same time, adding character to a simple black/white top.
Tip: Patterns can sometimes be overwhelming; start with a simple patterned dress and work your way up to outfit sets.

Never too late for some Camo-print

Hello!

First thing's first, I want to apologise for the low-res quality pictures: ( I poured a whole glass of water onto my keyboard 4 years ago and thought it was okay the next day when it magically turned on again. But now the whole screen is totally screwed by some binary codes that needs fixin. To be honest, fixing/selling any electronic items of mine have been off my list for forever because I can't deal with people snooping into my private space, but yes, It's gonna be like this for the next 3 months until I get my other mac baby home from Australia in October, my apologies!

Everyone living in Jakarta will definitely have the same problem as me, the heat. It gets better after a while but still, I can't help but miss the indecisive Melbourne weather that pretty much rotates a whole cycle of seasons in one day. I have never really liked the camo-print trend at the very start but to my surprise it's starting to grow on me! Jakarta's very very hot so I kept it light and breezy underneath with a pair of high-waisted shorts. Yes, they're shorts!

I am only 155cm tall. I am very short and I like my high heels to be extremely high to accommodate my missing height. I will do another blog post showing all of my fellow shorties out there on how to elongate your body and create that illusion of longer legs! Hugs and Kisses, A.

Ps.: Sorry for the dodgy balcony shot!
